Autumn Skin Checklist

Summer is all but over in the UK. This isn’t a bad thing, some of us look forward to milder temperatures and the beautiful landscapes formed by autumn leaves. However, it’s no secret that our skin does tend to suffer as the seasons' transition. A lot of triggers are what you would you expect, with diet, skin, and weather all proving to be harsh for our skin.

Thankfully, there are a few different things that you can do to cope with this, and we at CloudCloth HQ have put these tips and tricks together in the form of a checklist - something for you to have handy when it comes to surviving this autumn with your skin intact!

Central Heating

Staying warm as the seasons change is always important, but it’s sometimes advised that you keep the thermostat down low and the heating to a minimum. You would be amazed as to how far a pair of thick woollen socks and a jumper can go to keeping you warm. It’ll save you money on the electricity bill, and also give you some more cash for pampering yourself!

Diet

Your diet can have a massive impact on keeping your skin in the best possible condition. During these dry months it’s so important to make sure that you’re changing your diet in the right ways.

The main change will involve shifting to foods which contain high levels of healthy fats and Omega 3. The healthy fats will ensure that your skin looks vibrant, radiant and hydrated. A lot of healthy fats can taste good as well, so it’s pretty easy to include them in your diet. Deliciously Ella has some really scrummy recipes that include a whole host of health fats, Nut Butters are a great option as you can add them to almost everything; porridge, smoothies, on toast and straight from the jar.

Hydration

The hydration of your skin during the autumn months can be challenging to get right at first. Try keeping a jug of water at your desk and ensure you’re topping up your glass throughout the day. We nipped to HomeSense for some nice big water jugs for CC HQ and it made all the difference – just add some ice and lemon and you’ve got a refreshing healthy drink that will not only make you feel good but will have your skin glowing within days.

Skincare

Skincare is unique to you, and so you should take the time to find out the best products for your skin type. This often involves taking a trip to your local skincare spa and spending the time to talk to a professional. They can help you get the absolute best treatment for your skin. Whether this is recommending an overnight repair moisturiser, the right base for make-up to keep your face looking it’s best. Perhaps they’ll suggest areas to target when it comes to exfoliating using your cleansing cloth. CloudCloth is made of 100% cotton and has two unique sides, one which is super soft ensures good make-up removal, the other is similar to muslin and gently exfoliates, the cloth is lightweight allowing you to target specific areas with ease. All in all, these are just some of the different things that you can do to make sure that your skin remains happy and healthy when it comes to the autumn conditions.
